Biography

GFG Financial Solutions

At that stage I was already for some time busy to build www.buy-and-sell.co.za during my spare time and decided to give my own online business a go. However, one of the Directors at Ronel vd Merwe Brokers approaches me to start a business with him and some partners and I agreed.

That was a big mistake.

A friend of mine joined us and registered the business in his name. (He is hard of hearing and an ex-manager of Trust Bank but leaved ABSA due to discrimination – Sounds familiar, didn’t it?). 

He also provides some capital while the rest of the capital was arranged through a friend of my brother. Gerhard van Jaarsveld, as ex-director of Ronel vd Merwe Brokers was in that stage in very bad financial position and also borrowed R10 000 from my friend to transport his furniture from Nelspruit to Roodepoort.

Anyway, to keep a sad story short and over. 

During the next three months I gave as usual everything and worked very hard to get things in order. Well, I soon discovered that Gerhard is a brilliant marketer but unfortunately perhaps a bit too brilliant because he simply ignore real live and planned or arranged things for that big money in the future while we don’t even earned one cent income yet.

I would rather let someone else lead and stay in the background with advice or support, but if I am responsible for things just nothing or nobody stands in my way to fulfil those responsibilities. 

This caused many arguments until up to the stage where I give him (and in that stage my friend too) the ultimatum that they must either leave the nonsense and start focus on real activities to earn income or I close the business. (Since my brother and his friend lend us the start-up capital and I build appropriate protection in the business contracts I could do that if I wish)

However, before things develop so far, my friend and I learned that Gerhard arranged with the Head Broker of NBS to give his wife a broker agreement. Since he and his wife was working very hard the last few days and actually obtained business but signed those contracts under his wife’s broker agreement, it simple means that he sabotage our business.

To end this part of the story, Gerhard simple disappear and leave us with the debt.
